The Wallowa Project includes a historic farm-style home situated on a property originally platted as four city lots. Working Homes LLC acquired the property in September 2023 and began extensive repairs and improvements to the existing five-bedroom, two-bathroom farmhouse. Renovation work on the farmhouse was completed in 2024 and sold in 2025 to a local healthcare worker.

In partnership with Hacienda CDC, we completed construction of a second two-bedroom, one-bath home in fall 2024. This home was rented in early 2025 to a local woman who was born and raised in Wallowa, Oregon.

The third and final home of the project was completed and sold in 2025. We are currently assessing market demand for both owner-occupied and rental housing to guide future development strategy.

Working Homes continues to seek funding to support remaining site improvements and long-term housing solutions for Wallowa County’s workforce.
